It has been just shy of ten years since The Spice Girls released their last single so, we are delighted to hear that their new comeback comes with its own set of fresh sassy songs.
The recently reunited band members (minus Victoria and Mel C) have allegedly renamed themselves GEM and a demo of their upcoming single, Song For Her, has been leaked.
Whilst the majority of us sadly haven’t had the pleasure of listening to the future chart-topper, it is reportedly ‘perfect pop’.
Lyrics are said to include: ‘Wipe up your tears of doubt you have been crying, lift up your dreams feel like you’re flying, never forget the girl is the woman you are.’
Despite the future success GEM hoped to have with their comeback, we can’t hide our disappointment that all five girls won’t be returning together.
Mel C and Victoria Beckham both decided against a 20th anniversary event in 2016, but that won’t stop the remaining three returning to the limelight.
‘Obviously the girls have been recording in the studio over the past few months. The plan is very much for there to be new music,’ a source told The Sun.
‘It will not be released under the GEM name that they gave themselves in their announcement, this is still very much the Spice Girls,’ they added.
‘It’s a Spice Girls song through and through and it’s something millions of their fans will be able to relate to having grown up with them.’
We couldn’t be happier to hear that the GEM name has been scrapped and eagerly await the official release of Song For Her and the rest of their future feel good songs.
